From a suggestion

Listing off my top fives of each game system. Very well.
While I may own more systems than what I present below, these are the ones I played enough of to have an opinion on being some of my certain favorites. The list is in no particular order. Part of the criteria was actual ownership and/or completion of the game. (So some titles like Fable aren't on the list despite them being great games for the system in question)

  1. Yes, see, that's where my experience radically differs way back in the day.

I played a couple things briefly over at friends' houses, but my first console was an SNES that was a hand-me-down of sorts, so not early in its life cycle. FF 6/3 was the first console game I really dug into, and I was heavily RPG-biased since.

Which is not to say I missed out on games entirely during those years. About the time you were playing Final Fantasy, I was playing Pool of Radiance. When you were playing Mega Man 3, I was playing Wing Commander. My "game console" was my Commodore 64, and later my dad's PC for a good many years.

That's how I missed out on such classic franchises as Castlevania. ;)
